Traffic-related first aid for mopeds
– specialist training course

GENERAL DEVELOPMENT GOALS
Participants will be able to act in accordance with the 4 key steps of first aid in
traffic-related accidents involving mopeds.

Participants will be able to react to traffic-related moped accidents that appear life-threatening or that may develop into life-threatening situations.

Participants will be able to give first aid to victims for the most common injuries arising in connection with traffic injuries.

Participants will be able to independently prevent accidents and be aware of the typical causes of moped accidents. Participants will have reflected on their own attitudes and the precautions they can take to avoid the typical causes of moped accidents.

TRAINING COURSE CONTENT

  • Welcome and presentation
  • Overview of the course framework, method of instruction, content and requirements
  • Prevention and the most common causes of moped accidents
  • Responding to traffic accidents involving mopeds in accordance with the 4 key steps of first aid
  • First aid for the most commonly sustained injuries in traffic accidents
  • Psychological first aid
  • Role-play exercises and situational training
  • Conclusion/Wrap-up

IMPLEMENTATION OF THE TRAINING COURSE
The course will have a minimal focus on theory, and will instead primarily entail realistic exercises, participant reflection and practical training. Exercises and training must be carried out in a relevant and suitable area including mopeds and cars and be based on accident types involving mopeds.

COMMENTS
If the “Traffic-related first aid for young moped drivers” course certificate is required in connection with the acquisition of a driver’s licence, the participant must also have completed the 4-hour “First aid for cardiac arrest” course as part of a course package which includes this course (cf. Danish government order on driver’s licences section 36 paragraph 5).

The certificate for this elective training course must not be older than 12 months when it is used in connection with an application for a driver’s licence.
