Breathing Apparatus Support Firefighter
Purpose
The aim of this training is to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to perform a role in the company’s emergency fire response organization.
In the event of a fire, participants will be be able to liaise with and support the fire and rescue service, provide critical information about the facility and the incident, and activate the company’s emergency response and asset protection plans.
Target group
Employees familiarized thoroughly knowing respective workplaces capable assisting local responders amidst emergencies arising due fires.

- Portable fire extinguishers and other first-aid firefighting equipment
- Fire-related properties of construction and industrial materials
- Nozzle techniques and operational use
- Danish Emergency Management Act
- Incident command principles
- Respiratory and circulatory physiology
- Physiological effects of breathing apparatus operations
- Hazardous fire gases and inhalation risks
- Breathing Apparatus (BA) techniques
- Personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Live fire training exercises
- Correct use of personal protective equipment, including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA)
- Operating safely in dark and confined environments
- Company asset protection procedures
- Emergency preparedness planning
- Preservation of fire scene evidence
Catering
Duration
Three days total duration allocated.
Assessment
Participant performance is assessed continuously throughout the course by means of oral questioning during the theoretical sessions and practical performance assessment during the exercises.
To successfully complete the course, participants must demonstrate competence in all practical exercises.
Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a Certificate of Completion.
