Confined Space

Purpose

The participant will acquire skills to work in horizontal side entry confined spaces, including planning, risk assessment, evacuation, and rescue of colleagues in low, medium, or high-risk environments.

This includes the evacuation or rescue of a colleague using a harness or stretcher, employing rope winches, wire winches with Polestand, as well as safety lines or fall arrest blocks.

The participant must select appropriate equipment for extraction and hauling, use it correctly, and provide first aid.

The course requires a valid low/medium or high-risk certificate. Specifically, completion of a 1-day low/medium risk confined space course grants a side entry low/medium risk certificate. Completion of a 2-day high-risk confined space course grants a side entry high-risk certificate.

Target audience

This course is intended for employees in the construction and civil engineering sectors, wind turbine industry personnel, rescue service staff, offshore industry workers, and individuals working in low/medium/high risk wells or tanks with horizontal side entry access.

Duration

Assessment

Continuous assessment through questioning during theoretical sessions. Participants must successfully complete all practical exercises to a satisfactory standard.

A certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the training.

Notes

Maximum body weight including work clothing is 136 kg in accordance with equipment specifications.
