Confined Space
– Side Entry

Purpose
The participant will acquire skills to work in horizontal side entry confined spaces, including planning, risk assessment, evacuation, and rescue of colleagues in low, medium, or high-risk environments.
This includes the evacuation or rescue of a colleague using a harness or stretcher, employing rope winches, wire winches with Polestand, as well as safety lines or fall arrest blocks.
The participant must select appropriate equipment for extraction and hauling, use it correctly, and provide first aid.
The course requires a valid low/medium or high-risk certificate. Specifically, completion of a 1-day low/medium risk confined space course grants a side entry low/medium risk certificate. Completion of a 2-day high-risk confined space course grants a side entry high-risk certificate.
