STCW A-VI/1-3
– First Aid Training
Purpose
The training meets the requirements set forth by the Danish Maritime Authority regarding First Aid education. The course is approved by the authority and complies with the standards established in the STCW convention.
Target Audience
Seafarers employed on vessels, where they perform operational tasks as part of the crew.
Objectives
Upon completion of the course, participants will acquire knowledge and be able to:
- Assess the need for assistance for injured individuals and evaluate threats to their own safety.
- Understand the structure and functions of the human body.
- Comprehend actions that must be immediately implemented in emergency situations.

Duration
1 day
Assessment
Continuous assessment through questioning techniques during theoretical sessions. Participants must successfully complete all practical exercises.
A certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the training and reported to the Danish Maritime Authority.
Notes
- The training is quality assured according to the requirements of the Danish Maritime Authority.
- The training fulfills part of the requirements for Basic Safety Training as described in section VI/1, paragraph 2, tables A-VI/1-1, A-VI/1-3, and A-VI/1-4 of the STCW convention’s A code.
- Participants must present valid health documentation in either a seafarer’s book (maximum 2 years old examination) or a health certificate from a maritime physician (maximum 2 years old).
- Instruction can be conducted in both Danish and English.
