GWO Basic Safety Training
– First Aid Refresher

Purpose

The objective of this course is to refresh the skills and knowledge previously acquired in the “First Aid” module, enabling participants working in the wind turbine industry and within a WTG environment to provide effective first aid.

Overall, the course equips participants with fundamental knowledge and skills necessary for safe operations within the wind turbine sector.

Target Audience

This course is designed for employees operating both onshore and offshore in the wind energy industry.

Through a combination of theoretical instruction and practical exercises—aligned with GWO first aid training—the course ensures that participants are capable of:

Duration

Half day  

Assessment

Ongoing assessment through questioning techniques during the theoretical portion. Participants must complete all exercises satisfactorily, which will be documented on a Performance Assessment Form.

A certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the training, along with reporting to WINDA.

Notes

  • Prior to attendance, participants must be registered in WINDA’s database.
  • This basic safety training involves physical demands and potentially stressful scenarios; therefore, all participants should be healthy and fit to complete the entire program.
  • It is a prerequisite for participation that each attendee submits a valid health declaration per GWO guidelines.
  • A valid GWO First Aid certificate that has not yet expired is required.
