First Aid – with special responsibility

Purpose
The participant will be able to act based on the main principles of first aid in emergency situations.
The participant can respond appropriately to accidents that are immediately life-threatening or may develop into life-threatening situations, including ensuring safety, assessing individuals, calling for assistance at 1-1-2 – potentially receiving advice and guidance through regional emergency hotlines, positioning individuals safely, and providing psychological first aid.
The participant can perform basic resuscitation on an unconscious adult who is not breathing normally – both with and without an automated external defibrillator (AED).
The participant is aware of the possibility of seeking assistance from a healthcare professional via alarm 1-1-2.
The participant can provide first aid for minor acute injuries, including those affecting the musculoskeletal system, and can seek guidance through the emergency hotline regarding appropriate assistance for the injured person.
The participant can administer first aid for acutely occurring illnesses and respond suitably to the condition of the injured individual while ensuring further necessary support.
Target Audience
Individuals who require certification as a prerequisite for other educational programs etc.
Objectives
Upon completion of the course, participants will gain knowledge of and be able to apply:
- The complete content of the Basic Training "First Aid in Cardiac Arrest".
- Special Supplement 1: "First Aid in Accidents, Part 2".
- The complete content of the elective training "First Aid for Bleeding".
- The complete content of the elective training "First Aid for Musculoskeletal Injuries".
- The complete content of the elective training "First Aid for Minor Injuries".
- The complete content of the elective training "First Aid for Illnesses".
- Special Supplement 4: "Burns, Scalds, and Poisonings".

Assessment
Ongoing assessment through questioning techniques during theoretical sessions. Participants must successfully complete all practical exercises.
A certificate will be issued upon completion of the training.
Notes
The Danish First Aid Council (DFR) recommends updating this education within 24 months.
