Confined Space
– Refresher
Purpose
This refresher course aims to reacquaint participants with skills related to working within small enclosed spaces including planning, risk assessment, evacuation procedures, colleague rescue strategies utilizing respiratory protection measures alongside gas detection protocols.
Target audience
The target audience for the Confined Space Refresher consists of employees from the construction industry, personnel from wind power sectors; members engaged within emergency response teams; offshore workers; as well as individuals working in wells or tanks.
Objectives
Upon completion of this refresher course participants will be knowledgeable about and capable of:
- Identifying risks associated with confined space operations while minimizing those risks.
- Executing evacuations along with initiating rescues using proper rescue equipment.
- Effectively using escape devices when necessary.
- Working safely inside confined spaces utilizing an airline system.
- Operating portable gas detectors proficiently.

Assessment
Ongoing evaluation through questioning techniques during theoretical portions; participants are required to successfully complete all exercises before receiving certification following program completion.
Notes
Maximum individual weight inclusive of work attire is set at 136 kg., adhering strictly to specified equipment guidelines alongside possessing a valid Confined Space certificate (2 days) that has yet to expire.
