Confined Space
– 1 day
Purpose
The participant will gain an understanding of working in small enclosed spaces, including evacuation and rescue of colleagues using harnesses, ladders, winches, safety lines, or fall arrest systems.
The participant must understand how to select suitable equipment for lowering and raising, as well as how to use it correctly under supervision.
The participant will also become familiar with detection equipment and evacuation devices.
Target audience
The target audience for Confined Space includes employees in the construction industry, the wind power sector, personnel employed by rescue services, offshore workers, and individuals who work in wells or tanks.
Objectives
Upon completion of the course, participants will be knowledgeable about and able to:
- Understand confined spaces and the associated risks.
- Recognize risks and minimize them.
- Conduct evacuations and initiate colleague rescues using appropriate rescue equipment.
- Select suitable safety equipment for entering confined spaces and use it correctly.
- Detect respiratory hazards in confined spaces.
- Be familiar with evacuation devices.

Assessment
Ongoing assessment through questioning techniques during the theoretical part of the course. Participants must complete all exercises satisfactorily to receive a certificate upon course completion.
