– Helicopter Landing Officer
Purpose
The training program equips participants with fundamental knowledge, skills, and attitudes relevant to offshore helicopter operations. Participants will learn to recognize the duties and responsibilities associated with the role of a Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO), as well as gain insight into fire-fighting and rescue equipment available offshore in proximity to the helideck.
The program complies with BL 3-5, 3-6, 7-11 & 6-08 and the Danish Energy Agency’s Regulation 798 §10.
Target Audience
Individuals who are to serve as Helicopter Landing Officers within the Danish offshore sector.
Objectives
- Familiarity with regulations.
- Knowledge of Aviation Safety Management Systems.
- Understanding of quality management.
- Comprehension of helideck operations
- Awareness of regulations.
- Insight into helideck organization.
- Understanding of helideck operations.
- Ability to utilize personal protective equipment applicable on the helideck.
- Capability to execute instructions for helideck services and functions.
- Participation in the emergency response team for the helideck.

Duration
2 days
Assessment
Ongoing assessment through questioning techniques during theoretical sessions. Participants must complete all exercises satisfactorily. A certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the training.

Prerequisites for enrollment in the training program include:
- A valid Danish Emergency Team Course or Basic Offshore Safety Course
- Offshore Fire Team Member Course.
