Basic Firefighting
– 3 hours
Purpose
The purpose is to enable the participant to alert, extinguish a small fire with minor extinguishing agents, and provide the participant with knowledge about the causes of fire.
Target group
The target group for Elementary Firefighting is anyone over the age of 18.
Goals
Upon completion of the course, the participant will be familiar with and able to apply:
- Act appropriately in the event of a fire based on step-by-step firefighting
- Rescue individuals
- Alert
- Combat the fire
- Be capable of handling small fires by either extinguishing or containing them
- Handle small fires with knowledge of fire theory, as well as understanding the conditions necessary for combustion to occur
- Step-by-step firefighting
- The fire triangle
- Basic fire theory
- Theory regarding minor extinguishing agents and their effects
- Prevention
- Cases
- Complete practical tasks with satisfactory results
